Description

Report of Richard Perryn on 1 collective petition (14 people, comprising the prisoner, Joseph Marshall the prosecutor, and the jury) on behalf of Thomas Loman, convicted (with John Elves) at the Surrey Assizes, held at Croydon on 27 July 1795, for stealing hay, property of Joseph Marshall. Grounds for clemency: suitable to serve in HM. Forces. Initial sentence: 7 years transportation. Recommendation: to serve in HM. Forces. Folios 160-163.
