Description

Grounds for clemency: none given for Hands; Crutchfield has a large family and was duped by another who escaped conviction. Initial sentence: Hands, 7 years transportation; Crutchfield, death (this was passed at Chelmsford after Hotham discussed the case with other judges as there were points of law that needed to be discussed).
