Description

Certificate/memorial of Francis Buller on prisoners capitally convicted at the Yorkshire and City of York Assizes, reprieved and now recommended for mercy on the conditions set against their names:

Yorkshire, 19 March 1792

1. John Gregory and George Eaton, for highway robbery. Recommendation: transportation for life.

2. William Freer and Ann Wilson, for burglary. Recommendation: transportation for life.

3. William Bailey, for sheep stealing. Recommendation: transportation for life.

4. John Bulmer, for burglary. Recommendation: 7 years transportation.

5. Ann Holmes, for grand larceny. Recommendation: 7 years transportation.

6. Mary Reed, for grand larceny. Recommendation: free pardon.

City of York

7. Robert Adams, for grand larceny. Recommendation: transportation for life.

8. Samuel Cartwright, for horse stealing. Recommendation: 7 years transportation.

9. Robert Jones, for grand larceny. Recommendation: 1 year in the house of correction.
