Report of James Eyre on 1 individual petition (prisoner) and 1 collective petition (16 people, 'gentleman and clergy' from Shropshire) on behalf of John Harrison, carpenter, convicted at the Shropshire Summer Assizes at Shrewsbury in 1791, for stealing 3 silver spoons and 1 plated spoon, property of Edward Guest, 2 hempen shifts, 2 lawn aprons, 1 pair of cotton stockings, and 3 linen handkerchiefs, property of Elizabeth Guest, and 1 silk handkerchief, property of Margaret Hale (from the dwelling house of Edward Guest). Evidences supplied by Elizabeth Guest, James Tinsley, Thomas Hardiman, Margaret Hale and the prisoner. There is a covering letter from John Kynaston[?] in the prisoners favour. Grounds for clemency: is affected by (sensible of) the crime, contrite, behaved well during the year he has served in prison, crime was committed with no circumstances of aggravation and he refused to comply with a break out at the prison and has now been separated from the other prisoners.
