Letter from Lord Kenyon on 1 collective petition/certificate (3 Shropshire magistrates) on prisoners convicted at the Shropshire Assizes[?]:
1. Francis Pryce, convicted at the Lent assizes in 1788, for horse stealing.
2. William Roberts, convicted Lent assizes in 1788, for stealing goods.
3. Charles Lyster, convicted at the Lent assizes in 1789, for stealing wearing apparel.
Initial sentence: death[?], commuted to 5 years hard labour. Grounds for clemency: have been employed on the public works since their conviction, sensible of their crimes, good behaviour during their confinement and promise of future good behaviour, Recommendation: mercy. Folios 51-54.
