Holdernesse to Prince Ferdinand of Brunswick: the king wishes the raising of the five free battalions to be executed as soon as possible. Ferdinand is to negotiate the possible supply of troops from Mecklenburg. The Hessians have offered two squadrons of hussars and two of mounted chasseurs, but their demand for levy money is too high, and Ferdinand is to negotiate a fixed payment and explore the possibility of a further augmentation.
