Prince Ferdinand of Brunswick to Holdernesse: he has informed his brother the duke of Brunswick of Holdernesse's proposition and sent him a copy of the letter from Belle-Isle to Contades. The duke has offered various troops, but he does not want the garrisons of Brunswick and Wolfenbüttel moved far from those towns. The exhaustion of his country does not permit him to pay for them himself. These garrisons could serve Ferdinand as a rearguard. His pleasure at reinforcements from Britain. He is confident that the king of Prussia will recover [from Kunersdorf], but cannot send him any assistance. He is sending a courier with the rest of Contades' correspondence. Dated at Ellenhausen. ff. 154-157
