Description

Reports he has received a letter from Governor Orde and parties he has sent out for the suppression of 'Runaway Negroes' [escaped enslaved persons] are 'in a very fair way of executing that Service' and that as Secretary of State wants to increase troops in Grenada, desires that Orde cannot call upon Lucas for assistance unless 'matters should take a different turn and that he should be put to the absolute necessity of doing it, which I do not think likely to happen.'
