Description

Draft; acknowledges receipt of several dispatches with enclosures; reports that although the Decree upon the Libel preferred in the Vice Admiralty Court against the cargo of sugar found on board the ship Golden Lion may be given before this letter reaches Lucas, he has thought fit to refer the case to the consideration of the Law Officers of the Crown; encloses an extract of a letter from the Deputy Secretary at War upon an examination of the Returns of the 2nd Battalion of the 60th Regiment which was transmitted to the War Office [not in item].
