Prince Ferdinand of Brunswick to Holdernesse: if Russia makes peace with the king of Prussia it may lead to a general peace. He speculates that France may be witholding subsidies to Russia in favour of German princes. He suggests an English minister be sent to Mannheim. He asks that his light troops may be reinforced. He feels the French army will be at least as strong during the next campaign. He has had no reply from his brother the duke of Brunswick. Dated at Krofdorf [partially in cipher deciphered]. ff. 41-44
