Prince Ferdinand of Brunswick to Holdernesse: on falling back on Osnabrück he resolved to save Minden and prevent a siege of Hamelin, but has since learnt that Minden has fallen. Although Münster is under attack he has judged it better to be on the Weser, which de Broglie has crossed, and is now protected by the swamp at Minden. Dated at Petershagen. ff. 104-105A
