Forwards copy of Governor Lincoln's letter to Mathew; letter reports that information had been given to Lincoln of 'an intention on the part of the Charaibs [Caribs] to commence hostilities upon St. Vincent'; Lincoln writes that the 'Charaibs are from seven to twelve hundred strong besides a vast number of fugitive Slaves supposed to be in league with them'; after receiving the letter Mathew applied to Captain Rule, commander of the only king's vessel in the bay, who permitted him to embark the same evening; the Light Company of the 2nd Battalion of the 60th, a detachment of 30 'Carolina Negros' [Black Corps] with all the spare small arms in store, on board HMS Experiment; reports other military decisions.
