Holdernesse to Prince Ferdinand of Brunswick: the king's approbation of his actions and pleasure at the landgrave of Hesse's easy acceptance of his means of paying for the artillery. He has heard reports of disunity among the French generals, but supposes that Ferdinand is in a better position to know. Hawke's fleet has sailed to show itself off Brest.
