Traffic and Transport Planning Division was created in 1971 as the successor body to the Traffic and Transport Planning A Division of the Ministry of Transport. It was part of the Planning Urban and Passenger Transport Group of the Department of the Environment formed in 1970. Its functions were transferred in 1975 to the Urban Traffic, Parking and Restraint Division of the Local Transportation and Roads Group (also Department of the Environment).
