Prince Ferdinand of Brunswick to Holdernesse: he relies on Holdernesse to preserve the Hessian alliance. The courier has left for the king of Prussia's camp in Saxony with the dispatch [about the Prussian cavalry] for Mr. Mitchell. The Russians are still in Landsberg, but the Swedes are retreating. He encloses an account [SP 87/34/48] of an enemy attack on Borken. The French retreat from Hanover continues. The Saxon corps is to reinforce Soubise and undertake the siege of Lippstadt. Colonel Durand is prevented from undertaking his musters by enemy raiding parties. Dated at Dülmen. ff. 100, 101
