Holdernesse to Prince Ferdinand of Brunswick: General Abercrombie, leading 6,000 regular and 9,000 colonial troops, has failed to capture Ticonderoga. As he has not time to have the official account translated, he has charged Colonel Durand with telling him. As Amherst's troops can now serve wherever needed, this setback will soon be remedied.
