- The petitioners ask that to avoid the harm done to the people by the selling of poor wine at the same price as good, and by the mixing of wine, the Mayor, on the advice of the Aldermen, might be able to test the wine sold at retail and fix a price for each barrel, which would be marked on the barrel so that people could see what they should pay, and that due punishment might be ordained for all those who sell contrary to this.

- No date given on the guard - probably later Edward II from the hand. This is obviously the second or later of a group of petitions on one piece of parchment. It has been dated to '? c. 1324' on the grounds that it might have been attached to SC 8/120/5985 and SC 8/120/5991A.
