Nature of request
Adam le Brewer and Joan, daughter of William atte Hulle, state that they have sued by a writ of right against Thomas de Hockelegh and Richard his brother for ten years before the Mayor and Sheriffs of London concerning a messuage and eleven shops in London, but that their suit has constantly been delayed by the King's protections. They request a writ to the Mayor and Sheriffs that they might not be further delayed by protections or other letters under the targe, but that they might be able to be at common law.
