- The petition dates to 1285-1290, as the petition refers explicitly to Walter de Stirtheley as the preceding sheriff to the current sheriff. Stirtheley served between 3 November 1282 and 2 October 1285 (List of Sheriffs, p.78), while his successor, Robert de Chadworth, held office until 16 October 1290.
