The bishop of Ely was commanded to extract their muniments from the Temple and Hospital if therein, for their churches and other property but they are disturbed by the death of the bishop.2) The Jews of London request that provision is made for their sustenance, as they have very little certain income from their house, 80 marks from the Exchequer at pleasure, and the chevage of the Jews which is insufficient to sustain half the 80 heads who reside in the house unless they have the deodands as they used to have. And if they cannot have this that they be granted a sum from the Jewry of England for their support, and they request that someone is assigned to their house to govern them well.3) They understand that Stamford or Isden or other good men of Chancery would be sufficient for the keeping of their house.1)
