Nature of request
The petitioners seek guidance concerning churchmen and laymen in the diocese of Carlisle who are telling people that Richard II is still alive and living in Scotland, and will soon return to England with the support of the Scots.
Nature of endorsement
[on face] Commission to Henry de Percy, Earl of Northumberland, William, Bishop of Carlisle, and the sheriffs of Cumberland and Westmorland to arrest such persons and keep them in secure custody until they be brought to the king.
