Description
Petitioners
Ralph Kynge (King); Isabel Kynge (King), wife of Ralph King.
Name(s)
Kynge (King); Kynge (King), Ralph; Isabel
Addressees
Commons.
Nature of request
Ralph and Isabel Kynge seek the recovery of various lands in Pembrokeshire, claimed by Isabel as the heir of John, son of John Knegh. They state that John, son of John Knegh, had granted these lands to John, son of Henry Knegh, during the reign of Richard II, but that John, son of John, was found to be an idiot, and all his grants were annulled and the lands taken into the wardship of the Duke of Gloucester during the minority of the heir of the Earl of Pembroke. Th e grant to John, son of Henry, was included in the reversals, and a copy of this was attached. John, son of John, is now dead, but John, son of Henry, is still claiming the lands, to the disinheritance of Isabel. They also claim that the supporters of John, son of Henry, had control of the records in Pembroke, and that they have had no recourse at common law.
