The petitioners ask for letters to the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer, ordering them to settle a debt of £295 10d owed to Asshecombe for embroidery sold to Richard II. Asshecombe had secured a promise from Henry IV that the debt would be honoured, and payment was assigned from the customs revenues, but it was still outstanding on Henry V's death. Such debts were then made the responsibility of Henry IV's executors, but despite presenting their tallies to the executors, the petitioners had still not received payment.
