Note (Additional information about the record)
- Dated on the guard to 1381-2 on the basis of Ildreton and Heron agreeing to serve as keepers of Berwick from Hilary 1382 (Cal. Docs. Scot., vol. IV, no.305). However, he clearly received this office earlier (ibid., no.276, a similar indenture dated 24 May 1379), and held it for a number of years (ibid., no.306, referring to Ildreton's accounts for Berwick, 2-4 Richard II).
