[This petition is badly damaged and much is missing or illegible]The petitioners request that the king appoint a wise lieutenant to come to Ireland with a military force and end the dispute between the followers of the Earl of Desmond and those of Philip Barry. The land of Munster has suffered from constant attacks from rebels and enemies of the king, and many of the king's subjects have fled to Bristol and Cornwall.
