Nature of request
Writ, dated at Wallingford 15 June 1295, ordering Cobeham to inquire as to who holds the advowson of the church of St Clement on Jersey. The parson of the church has abandoned his post, preferring to remain with the king's enemies, for which reason the church and its revenues are in the king's hands. If the king holds it, he is to give possession to Loreor, the bearer of these letters.
