Nature of request
The petitioners ask to be discharged from certain customs duties. They state that, on a voyage to Portugal, they seized 60 half-sacks of Spanish wool from a ship on the high seas, and brought it back to Southampton. They were then charged over £57 in customs for this wool, even though it was only worth £30. This wool was then sent to Calais, but was taken by the king's enemies and taken to Crotoy.
