William le Irreis (Irish).
Name(s)
Irreis (Irish), William
Addressees
King.
Nature of request
Le Irreis asks that he be granted the beadlery of Iscoed and keepership of the king's demesne lands there for life, on account of his eighteen years' service to the king's father and his service at Stanhope Park for the present king.
Nature of endorsement
Let the king be informed of the bailiwick, and who holds it and how, and also of the service which he has done for the king.
Places mentioned
Stanhope Park, [County Durham]
Iscoed commote, [Cardiganshire, Wales]
Cardigan, [Cardiganshire, Wales].
People mentioned
[Edward II], King of England.
Note
Dated by Rees to c. 1332, on the basis of the grant of 30 acres of land to the petitioner in that year (CPR 1330-4, p.233). He does not appear in the list of beadles of Iscoed, so presumably was unsuccessful.
