Nature of request
John Hampton requests various grants from the king on account of him losing a grant from Bourgchier and the Countess of Stafford, and asks that they be exempted from the Act of Resumption passed during the present parliament. A draft text of such an exemption is included, reciting grants of the £9 per year owed by Hugh Tyrell for the keeping of lands in Staffordshire, a grant of 50 marks per year from the farms of the mill of Pendelston, the towns of Bridgnorth and Worcester and the manor of Rowley Regis. He also requests the office of Constable of Colchester castle
Nature of endorsement
On account of his long service to the king and his father, the king grants to John Hampton 40 marks per year and the office of Constable of Colchester castle, with all the associated rewards, and all the rest to be resumed.Provisions made in Parliament 33 Henry VI (1455).
