Nature of request
The people of Hartington request that they be restored to their rights of common pasture and chase in the vill. They used to enjoy rights in the area between Hartington and the River Dove where they could water their beasts and wash their sheep, but the Earl of Lancaster seized the lands, renting some to his tenants and denying them their rights.

Let it be assigned to the justices to enquire upon the content etc., and on what conditions they were held, and other articles etc., and certify this to the King.
