The master of Hornchurch requests an order to the Exchequer that they cease to pursue him for 10 marks assessed upon him and his tenants for lands in the manor of Havering by the Prior of Wymondham for the king's tax, and other arrears for other taxes. He states that his house was exempt from such taxes by virtue of their charters.

Although possibly employed as evidence for the case in the petition at SC 8/117/5807A, the handwriting of this petition is clearly earlier. A note on the guard suggests a date of Henry III's reign, but a date of c. 1275 - c. 1300 seems more likely.
