Note
From the notes on the dorse, this document is clearly a plaint from a general eyre, and presumably therefore a stray plaint from the Staffordshire eyre of 1293, the other plaints for which are now in JUST 1/1553 (with further strays elsewhere). The eyre took place between 7 and 22 January 1293 in Lichfield, and 27 January and 25 February 1293 in Stafford (D. Crook, Records of the General Eyre, p.176). The events recounted took place in 1288, and this is one of five identical complaints about these events (see also SC 8/92/4594 and SC 8/116/5751-3).
