Nature of request
The Prior and Convent of Hexham request pardon from the remaining £63 10s of a debt of £71 10s owed to the king for victuals bought at Newcastle in the time of Edward II. They have suffered greatly from the war, and ask that the king have regard for the losses he himself inflicted on them at Haydon Bridge.
Nature of endorsement
It seems to the Council that, if it pleases the king and on account of the great losses and destruction suffered by them on account of the Scottish war, they should be pardoned the said sum.It pleases the King.
