Nature of request
John requests arrears of rents in Iham. His father was seised of this rent and suit to the court of Icklesham at the hands of one John Tregoze for a tenement in Iham, where the town of Winchelsea is now established, and thus all these services have been in arrears since the nineteenth year of the reign of the present king. The matter was surveyed before Stephen de Penchester and Gregory de Ruxley in that year.
Nature of endorsement
Let a writ be issued to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer that, after hearing the arguments of the complainant and enquiring into the truth of these matters, if it is necessary, they are to satisfy them for any arrears and also for the said annual rent
