Nature of request
The abbot and convent request remedy, since whereas they were granted the course of the Fulbrook by the king's progenitors, and were seised until the people of the town came and made a ditch and stopped the course to their disinheritance.1) Copy of a grant of Henry II addressed to the sheriff, ministers and burgesses of Gloucester, granting to the abbot and convent the river Fulbrook.2) Copy of a writ of Stephen that the abbot and convent should have the river which runs by the abbey.3) Extract of a confirmation by Henry II.

The petition is dated speculatively to? c. 1322 on the basis of the guard note. The date is presumably ascribed in association with SC 8/114/5690. The first charter of Henry II can be dated to 1155-1172, and the second to c. 18 May 1175 (Vincent, Henry II, no.1164 and no.1173).
