Grendon requests restoration of his lands and tenements in Westmorland as they have been taken into the king's hand because Grendon resided for a long time among the Scots, when this was as a consequence of his capture at Bannockburn in the king's service, and his inability to raise a ransom because the Scots had burnt his land.
Nature of endorsement
Let Barton and Skelton be assigned to enquire of the truth of the matter and whether he aided the Scots or not, and return the inquisition into Chancery.
