Grane requests remedy as his father purchased land in Everton from the archbishop of York and died seised of it, but he is kept out of it by the claim of John Damyot, kinsman and heir of Ralph Damyot who claimed that the lands were taken into the king's hand by the idiocy of Ralph when this is disproved by the inquisition taken on Grane's father's death.
Nature of endorsement
The inquisition returned into Chancery should be viewed ... and the escheator will be ordered to act accordingly.
