Nature of request
[Petition in 7 parts].1) Geynville requests that the 50 marks that he and Verdun were used to receive annually as parceners of the inheritance of Lacy from the castle and town of Drogheda which is in arrears be allowed in the debt he owes the king.2) He requests that the rolls of the Dublin Exchequer be searched for 6 Edw. I, and what is found owing to him for his time as justiciar be similarly allowed.3) He requests that the sums that he and his son spent guarding the marches by order of the Irish council be allowed if it be found that they did spend it.4) He requests that the he have his usage and not be amerced for disrespect by the treasurer, and if his return of writs is not to be tolerated he requests that he be told how to better return writs, and that the treasurer's amercement of him be annulled.5) He requests redress for the wrongs and grievances done to him and his men by the justices of the eyre of Drogheda.6) He requests remedy as the Dublin Bench have issued writs to the steward of the liberty to produce knights and other free men out of the liberties to serve of assizes and juries before them for things that do not concern the king and queen contrary to custom.7) He requests that as he is of great age he is not troubled anymore except in great need.1)

Petitions of Ireland coram rege.2) Let it be ordered by writ of Chancery to the justice and treasurer of Ireland that they enquire of all the articles contained within the petition and certify the king at the next parliament.3) Coram rege.

The petition comes from the Lent parliament of 1305 as it is very briefly summarised in Latin in the roll for this parliament (Irish Petitions 1302 and 1305, p.14).
