Grandison requests the king's prohibition to the bishop of Coutances and his officials who harass the king's people in the isles of Guernsey and Jersey summoning them to many places in Normandy for trespass, contracts and of debts as well as testaments and matrimony against a bull of Pope Honorius prohibiting the summonsing of the people outside of the island.1)

See PROME, Lent 1305 Channel Islands membrane, appendix, no.16. The petition dates to 1305 or 1309 for the king addressed writs to the bishop of Coutances concerning his attempts to cite the people of the islands outside of the islands (CCR 1302-7, p.327; CCR 1307-13, p.149).
