- Dated tentatively on the guard to 'c. 1329 but possibly earlier'; the inquisition post mortem of Ralph Gorges the elder, taken in 1324 (CIPM vol. VI, no. 508) provides a terminus a quo. The petition does not identify the earl to which it refers and this suggests that the petition may be the second part of a longer document.
