Matilda and Simon Forneaux request an enquiry as they have not been allowed an allowance for a sum expended by Matthew de Furness in sending victuals to Carlisle Castle, the ship being lost on its way from Teignmouth to Skinburness. They have requested a remedy in parliament but have still had no remedy.

Note
Matthew de Furness was sheriff from May 1311 until January 1315 (List of Sheriffs, p.34). However, the petition is a little later, Furness being dead by 12 June 1316, and the petition perhaps dating to later 1316 or 1317, and possibly later (CFR 1307-19, p.289).
