Nature of request
[The petition has suffered some damage].Fitz Waryn requests that the king send his letter to Mortimer to cease . . . and all other manner of grievances, and that it be tried whether he should hold of the Crown or of Welshry as Mortimer has come and taken the oxen, cows and other beasts, and distrained his men to answer at Caernarfon in the manner of Welshry when neither he or his ancestors have answered as such.
Nature of endorsement
Let the justice be ordered by writ to cease from the grievances within written, and if it happens that he has reasonable cause why this should not be done, then he should certify the king of that cause without delay.
