Nature of request
[Petition in two parts].1) The burgesses request the delivery of their animals which are emparked and detained for the farm [of the town], and they request a remedy for £10 that they have given to Grey to have respite of the farm.2) The burgesses request remedy as Welsh villeins of king by licence of Grey are buying land in the town and baking and brewing against their charter and custom.
Nature of endorsement
[On face].1) Concerning the first article it is to be discussed with the king, and concerning the second article Grey states that he took the £10 in part payment of the farm etc.2) They should go into Chancery and show their charter, and they should have a writ that the articles in the charter be observed.
