Description

Name(s)
Fitz John, Eleanor

Nature of request
Fitz John requests remedy and that right is done to her concerning her dower, as lands in England and Wales settled upon her are now in the king's hand.
Nature of endorsement
[On face:] Fitz Reynald gave the lands to the king and the king has a right in them.[On dorse:] She should declare in whose hand the lands now exist, and if it some other than the king then she should sue at the common law. If they are in the hand of the king she should show what she has for the assent of her late husband's father upon the assignment of the dower at the door of the church. Afterwards she came and showed the writing that attested that her late husband gave dower to her in the lands named in the petition, and another writing that attested the assent of her father.
