- Petition in six parts:1) for confirmation of a charter of Henry III;2) that the Justice of Chester cease from leasing bailiwicks at farm;3) for relief in those cases where people are imprisoned for trespass but cannot be delivered without making great fine;4) that the officer of coroner be at the common law;5) for the re-uniting of two gavels separated within the town of Mostyn;6) that they have remedy in a dispute concerning the performance of the office of serjeant.
- Nature of endorsement
- [On face]1) Let them show the charter before the council and the king will confirm it;2) It does not please the king that they should have right of election, but let the Justice of Chester be ordered not to lease the bailiwicks at outrageous farms;3) Let them have a writ in chancery to the Justice that all those who are repleviable may be repleved without taking fine;4) The king is not yet advised to change the laws or usages of those parts;5) Let the Justice of Chester be ordered to inquire of the time and cause of separation and let him plainly inform the king;6) Let the Justice be ordered that the service may be given in rent for sufficient warranty, and if it may not be by warranty, then he shall inquire and inform the king.
