- The executors of Edward III were enfeoffed with certain manors and lands in order to fulfil the former king's will; but the present king has ordered that no payments be made by them on the receipts from these lands and manors without his express instruction; they pray remedy.

Note (Additional information about the record)
- This is apparently the petition (or a copy of the petition) presented in the Gloucester parliament of 1378, referred to in the parliament roll of 1379 when the matter was again raised (Rot. Parl. III, pp. 60-1). The case is discussed by Given-Wilson, 'Richard II and his Grandfather's Will', English Historical review CXIII (1978), 320-37 (though he omits to identify the original of the 1378 petition).
