Abbot and convent of Sweetheart.

Nature of request
The abbot and convent request:1) That the king confirm their charters;2) That the king place them under his special protection;3) That they be recompensed for the wool taken for the king by Cleseby at Holmcultram;4) That the king be mindful of their great poverty, which amounts to 5,000 marks and more.
Nature of endorsement
Coram rege.As to the first petition, they should come before Roger Brabazon, John de Berwick and the escheator and chamberlain of Scotland and show their charters, and on this the king will be certified;As to the second petition, the king takes all the religious into his protection;As to the third petition, the king will order payment;As to the fourth petition, the king will do what he can to deal with their problems;As to the petition regarding warren [sic], the king wishes that they have warren in all their lands.
