Nature of request
The petitioners request as heirs of Chandos that the son of the count of Denia, a hostage, not be delivered out of the realm, nor any treaty be made affecting their rights, and that they are able to have right concerning the petition since they have long sued before the constable and marshal concerning the ransom of the count of Denia, previously taken prisoner by Sir John Chandos.

Dated on the guard? 1385 without reference, but more likely to date to the period 1377-80 during which the ransom of the count of Denia was in dispute: for a presumed terminus ad quem in 1380 see CCR 1377-81, pp. 482-3.
