Nature of request
Despenser requests that the king will command the bishop of Worcester and abbot of Westminster to cease cutting wood in the chases of Malvern and Corse without licence and making their other grievances against her and against Thomas son and heir of her late husband, and that she is suffered to have her franchises and liberties of the chase. She states that she held dower there after the death of her husband but the bishop and abbot have woods there and cut them outrageously without her licence or view of her foresters to the destruction of the chase and the disinheritance of Thomas Despenser.
