Nature of request
Derlyng requests that the king grant that he continue to abide as sergeant at arms and receive his wages and clothes during his life according to the form of his patents and the he not be prejudiced by the act [of resumption]. He was granted the office of sergeant at arms as well as usher of the great council of France and Normandy by Henry V for his good service, and he continued to serve with the duke of Bedford until his death when he returned to England and had confirmation of his letters.
Nature of endorsement
The bill is answered thus: that he shall receive his office of sergeant of arms with the accustomed fee of old time for the office.By the order of the lord cardinal.
